Looking up!

People of all ages, love to look up and observe the snow falling, clouds moving, or stars sparkling in the night sky.  “Looking up” is an expression that conveys hope and optimism, or a more expansive view. Spiritually speaking, this expression often refers to fixing your gaze on God or considering the heavenly realms.

Professional consideration may include seeking information from management ot leader teams.  To whom do you look up? Media? Community or government leaders? Colleagues? Mentors? Friends? Family?

Admiration is a form of adoration, but looking upward is a mindset.  In this brain-based attitude, a person is considering respect and charitable thoughts as the primary focus! I’m suggesting three strategies to try:

1)  Focus on Respect.  Acknowledge his/her position and accomplishments, personally and professionally.

2)  Use a charitable lens.  Human error may be behind the remark or incident, rather than malice or greed. ?

3)  Offer praise and appreciation.  Authentically share a specific compliment. Sincerity builds others up.

Find out which one works for you when you are tempted to look downward, instead of “Looking Up”!
